CLEARTEST Procalcitonin (PCT)

Description

The CLEARTEST Procalcitonin (PCT) is a rapid test for the diagnostic and monitoring of especially severe bacterial infections. In serious bacterial infections and sepsis there is early and continual release of procalcitonin into the blood stream. With a suitable antibiotics therapy it falls back rapidly. A consistent value or an increase of the value shows that there is no adequately responde to the current medical treatment. Values of more than 1 ng/ml most likely indicate a sepsis.
