The calcium alginate fibres of Sorbalgon dressings, in combination with the sodium salts from blood and secretions, form a hydrophilic, non-adhesive gel that fills the wound in close wound contact, traps germs and creates a microclimate that promotes healing. Thus, Sorbalgon is suitable for the treatment of all external wounds, especially bleeding and exuding wounds, such as venous leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, abscesses, boils and burns. Calcium alginate dressings are also used for wounds that are difficult to treat in trauma and tumour surgery. Excellent tamponability. Single, sterile packed.
