BD Vacutainer® EST™ tubes are without any additives and are suitable as a secondary vessel for anticoagulated blood samples, for example for collecting plasma samples from blood bags. The EST tubes can also be used as discard tubes. A high quality serum sample cannot be obtained from these tubes.
