Description
The CLEARTEST Noro-Rota-Adeno-Astrovirus is a qualitative immunological rapid test for the detection of the 4 viruses in human stool samples.
Noroviruses occur worldwide and mostly cause gastrointestinal diseases. The pathogens are excreted by the sick in large numbers with the stool and vomit and are highly contagious. This often leads to major outbreaks of diarrhoea with vomiting in community facilities such as nursery schools, schools, nursing homes or hospitals. Most diseases occur from October to March.
The rotavirus is the most common cause of diarrhoea in children worldwide. It is associated with severe diarrhoea, vomiting and fever. The rotavirus can be particularly dangerous for small children, but deaths are rare in Germany.
Adenoviruses are a group of pathogens that cause a variety of diseases, including gastrointestinal tract diseases. The viruses are highly contagious and resistant.
Human astroviruses have been described as gastroenteritis pathogens mainly in children, but also in adults worldwide. The symptoms of an infection are diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain.
